Neighbours Feeding Neighbours: Growing Stronger Together

Neighbours Feeding Neighbours has had a productive winter! We’ve been mapping emergency pods, producing educational resources, andcontinuing to connect and build Salt Spring’s resiliency to emergencies affecting our food supply.

In 2024, NFN began by listening carefully to as many key players as possible (emergency personnel, policy makers, farmers, food producers,neighbourhood gardeners, and more), and using what we learned to chart a sensible course. Now that winter is over, NFN is re-connectingwith community members to continue bolstering our household and collective food security.

For 2025, we have some exciting things happening on Salt Spring:

• Access to free emergency food security resources specifically for your pod

• Invasive plant-pulling parties across the island, happening March through May

• Chipping of invasive plants in May and June

• Opportunities to learn about new models of food production in your area
