At our recent work party, we put fallen trees and old garden plot wood to good use with a biochar burn that helped fuel our lunch! Using coals from the burn, we cooked up some delicious dishes—chicken & veggie soup, squash & barley soup, and rice. Volunteers also brought homemade goodies like veggie pate, zucchini relish, applesauce, lemon cake, popcorn, and more!
After a morning of trimming grass, clearing overgrown plots, installing new plot number posts, and brainstorming for our newly donated tool shelter, we gathered together for a well-deserved lunch. Everyone left with full bellies, fresh biochar, and a sense of community connection. 💚
