There's space for your food + farming business at the Root Cellar

We are seeking a new agricultural or food business to be part of The Root Food Hub community!

As of June 1, 2025, the lower level of The Root, affectionately known as The Root Cellar, will be available for rent. This is a 900-square-foot, multi-purpose space that includes two walk-in coolers/freezers, a produce washing sink, bathroom, garage doors, and access to a shared, covered outdoor area. It’s ideal for food prep, storage, distribution—or some inspired combination of the three.

It’s been home to Rani and the Free Rangers—who’ve raised the bar for community-rooted food ventures—and now it’s ready for its next steward.

We’re looking for a local food or agricultural business that sees this not just as a rental opportunity, but as a way to join a growing movement. Someone with vision, heart, and a deep respect for the land and the people it feeds.

The rent is $2000/month, including hydro. The space could be a home base for one operation or thoughtfully shared between collaborators.
