Wetland Planting Days at Xwaaqw’um

Volunteer planting season is underway as the Stqeeye’ Learning Society continues its wetland restoration project at Xwaaqw’um. Community members are invited to take part in planting over 10,000 native trees and shrubs throughout late October and early November.

Planting Schedule

October 28, 29, 30

November 4, 5, 6, 12, 13

10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. each day

Volunteers are asked to meet in the back fields and bring a small hand tool if possible.

This community-led effort is part of a long-term project to restore native habitat and support the return of biodiversity to the wetland area.

It’s a chance to spend time outdoors, learn about restoration work, and contribute directly to the health of the land.
