Food! Forest! Forage! with Qwustenuxun

Aug 31
1 min read

What if the foods that nourish us were also part of an edible landscape? Using regenerative principals, we’ll design a food forest braiding Indigenous and permaculture approaches for sustenance and sustainability.

Jared Qwustenuxun Williams is an Indigenous chef, Salish culture educator, and consultant dedicated to keeping Indigenous foods and cultural practices alive. Immersed in Salish culture through his father and late grandmother, Qwustenuxun grew up surrounded by traditional harvesting, Indigenous foods, language, and the stories of his people.

We acknowledge that the lands we steward are part of the unceded territories of the Hul'qumi'num and SENĆOŦEN speaking Coast Salish people.

We are grateful to Indigenous leaders whose traditional knowledge is vital to revitalizing local food systems.
